Camp Counselor-Early Childhood (Part-Time/Seasonal)
About The Position
This is a part-time, seasonal position. Salary is $15/hour, no benefits. 1). Greet parents and children as they arrive. 2). Assist in monitoring and maintaining the safety of all campers in daily routines, field trips, or during daily water park visits. 3). Play an active role in planning the daily schedule and activities to keep campers excited, safe, and engaged. 4). Initiate spontaneous activities to accommodate agenda conflicts/changes/weather. 5). Assist in providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive public image by adressing questions and concerns from staff, patrons, participants, and parents. 6). Assist in keeping program supplies, equipment, and facility space clean, safe, and organized. 7). Attend all staff meetings and training programs as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 16 years of age
- Experience working with young children ages 3-6 years
- Good skills in planning activities for children
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with children, parents, and staff
- Ability to solve problems as they arise
- Must be dependable, energetic, and have a positive attitude
- Ability to enforce Park District rules and safety practices
- Certified in CPR/AED and First Aid is required
