About The Position

Tahoe Donner Association is looking for a fun and personable Equestrian Camp Assistant to join our Equestrian Team! The Equestrian Camp Assistant is responsible for assisting the Equestrian Camp Instructors with all aspects of horsemanship camp including preparation, lessons, and administration of the camp, and assisting with care of the horses. This is an entry level position with the possibility of advancement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, business partners and employees. Ensures all staff meet or exceed the highest level of guest service in the performance of their duties. Uphold Tahoe Donner Association’s zero tolerance standard for sexual abuse and molestation by following protocols to protect participants from inappropriate behavior by staff, members, guests, public and other participants. Maintain basic understanding of Western and English horseback riding styles. Ability to assist the camp instructor with instruction of horseback riding, safety, and care of horses. Ability to mount, ride and guide horses. Clean horse corrals, restrooms, camp rooms and the tack room as directed. Assist with feeding, grooming and caring for the horses and ponies. Requirements

  • Must love being active and outdoors and love horses.
  • These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid certifications are desirable.
