About The Position

The Camera Software team is seeking a talented engineer to tune camera ISP (Image & Signal Processing) and 3A (Auto‑Exposure, Auto‑White Balance, Auto‑Focus) algorithms to deliver outstanding image quality across Qualcomm platforms. In this role, you will: Perform camera image‑quality tuning on various image sensors across multiple Qualcomm ISP platforms Evaluate image quality regularly using objective and subjective methods Work closely with cross‑functional teams to refine algorithms and achieve best‑in‑class results Use machine‑learning techniques to help build, curate, or refine tuning datasets to accelerate tuning workflows All Qualcomm employees are expected to actively support diversity and inclusion within their teams and across the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in the following areas:
  • ISP algorithms and designs, including AE, AWB, and AF
  • Image‑quality evaluation tools (e.g., Imatest) and tuning equipment (e.g., light booths)
  • Strong programming skills in C and C++
  • Software development for mobile or embedded platforms
  • Object‑oriented programming
  • Multi‑threaded programming experience

Nice To Haves

  • Prior camera image‑quality tuning experience
  • Experience with Machine Learning applied to imaging or signal processing
  • Strong attention to detail and an interest in photography
  • Familiarity with camera pipelines, sensor characterization, or calibration workflows
