Job Description: Our video team has one goal–make the most powerful videos on the internet. We're a well-equipped operation that hustles to create timely, original narrative based videos for our tens of millions strong audience. We love freedom and free markets - and we believe that young freedom-lovers like ourselves deserve a better class of internet video. We will be making some of the most beautiful, artistic and original videos in the political landscape in the coming years. We are seeking a skilled and creative field camera operator to join our dynamic team. The field camera operator is responsible for operating the video production gear to capture high quality video and audio to meet the needs of the video production department. The field operator works closely with the DP / Director(s) / Producer(s) to select proper equipment, determine necessary settings, and understand project deliverables. The person who fills this position will be responsible for executing the following duties as well as additionally assigned tasks:

Requirements

  • Post Production Experience
  • Adobe Creative Cloud and DaVinci Experience
  • Excellent theoretical knowledge of filming and capturing footage
  • Experience operating relevant equipment(Cameras, Rigs, Steady Cams, Movis, etc.)
  • Strong Portfolio of previous camera experience
  • Willingness to take constructive feedback and report to managers as needed
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive to locations as needed
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 15lbs

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and operating the camera according to the requests and standards set by the Main Camera Operator / DP / UPM / Director(s)
  • Testing camera angles and camera movements requested by the Main Camera Operator / DP / UPM / Director(s)
  • Capture quality footage from a fixed or moving position
  • Resolve technical problems
  • Edit footage as needed (Assembling Raw Footage, Inputting sound, graphics, effects to enhance footage, Improving and Correcting Lighting, Coloring, and Faulty Footage, Working closely with Post-Supervisor, Directors Keeping Project and Files Organized, Exporting Final Drafts according to Distribution Needs).
