About The Position

As a Camera Controls Systems Engineer, you will lead the architectural definition and mathematical modeling of advanced actuator control systems to ensure industry-leading OIS performance. Your role focuses on the end-to-end system analysis, from defining high-level hardware specifications and calibration strategies to optimizing the complex interplay between mechanical, optical, and thermal constraints. You will serve as the primary expert in characterizing system-level behavior, managing root-cause analysis for control failures, and mitigating parasitic vibrations or structural resonances. Through close collaboration with hardware, module, reliability, and software teams, you will evaluate emerging actuator technologies and integrate them into robust, high-performance camera architectures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in control systems, actuator control, firmware development, or system validation.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics.
  • Experience with Voice Coil Motor (VCM) managing and sensing technologies.
  • Experience with linear and nonlinear control system design utilizing integrated driver ICs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-performance control algorithms and simulation models for Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) systems.
  • Define technical specifications for actuators (VCA/SMA), Hall sensors, and gyroscopes to ensure seamless integration with the camera module.
  • Conduct characterization and tuning of OIS suppression across various vibration frequencies to meet image quality standards.
  • Partner with mechanical, firmware, and software teams to synchronize hardware stabilization with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for smooth video capture.
