About The Position

The Camera ISP Algorithm Engineer for Auto Focus at Apple is responsible for developing and optimizing auto focus algorithms for various Apple products, including iPhone and iPad. Requirements

• BS degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.
• General knowledge of camera and image signal processor (ISP).
• Proficient in coding with a combination of C++ and either Python or MATLAB.

Nice To Haves

• In-depth knowledge of camera 3A & ISP algorithm development and tuning, including AE/AWB/AF.
• Deep understanding of autofocus concepts and techniques such as contrast-based and phase-detection autofocus.
• Good knowledge of optics and image quality metrics.
• Strong embedded coding skills in C/C++ and understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP).
• Industry experience in designing, implementing, and managing product delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prototype, implement, and productize auto focus algorithms for Apple products.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams within the camera organization to deliver optimized camera solutions.
• Partner with camera technology teams to streamline algorithm deployment and improve camera components.
• Accelerate algorithms in silicon with the SOC architecture team.
• Optimize algorithms and flow with the firmware team.
• Prototype work with camera simulation and the machine learning team.
