Under general direction of an Area Superintendent, the Caltrans Maintenance Supervisor coordinates and assigns the work of a crew of employees engaged in the maintenance, installation, removal, and repair of signs installed throughout and adjacent to state highways, park and rides, maintenance facilities, scale houses, and other State owned or maintained facilities as needed or required. The incumbent enforces safety and health policies and procedures as contained in the Department's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), and will have knowledge of environmental, storm water, emergencies, natural disasters, accident prevention techniques, principals of effective supervision and safe work practices. Assists in work related to the maintenance of state signage when needed to augment the crew.
