The Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent (CMAS) is responsible for the instruction and training of Caltrans Maintenance employees, ranging from entry-level to Maintenance Manager II. This role involves developing and delivering training courses, researching course content, identifying training needs, and evaluating student performance. The CMAS may assist the Maintenance Manager I (MMI) with planning and organizing work assignments and reports, and acts as the Lead Instructor during training sessions at various locations.
