About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing 2-year program with prior triage experience.
• Valid, unrestricted RN license in the State of Michigan.
• Valid CPR certification.
• 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical or physician office.
• Proficient in medical terminology and clinical protocols.
• Ability to operate standard desktop and Windows-based computer systems.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with electronic medical records systems, particularly EPIC.
• Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish or other languages.

Responsibilities

• Promptly answers incoming patient telephone calls and makes outbound calls as necessary.
• Collects key health data from patients and triages/assesses calls according to established protocols.
• Provides medical advice within the scope of practice and according to Call Center protocols.
• Identifies emergent medical situations and assists patients in determining the appropriate level of care.
• Schedules patient appointments and obtains necessary documentation.
• Completes medication refills and updates medication records as per protocols.
• Processes STAT and critical labs, notifying providers as required.
• Documents patient records accurately and completely in the electronic medical record system.
• Facilitates office quality/performance initiatives and participates in ongoing professional development.
