About The Position

Call Center Position Summary: Offers friendly, courteous and confidential assistance to every patient to ensure that the patient has a positive experience while at Orthopaedic Associates, P.A. Maintain accurate information on each patient to facilitate the patient encounter. Uses automated systems to expedite patient scheduling and preregistration. Works with others in a team environment. Essential Job Functions: Screens incoming calls assessing urgency of call and routes calls to appropriate extension. Interviews patients and/or family members to obtain preregistration information. Consistently acts as a customer service representative for the clinic ensuring efficient communication via telephone or in person. Therefore, will seek out appropriate guidance and direction in the performance of responsibilities and duties. Demonstrates good judgment and reasoning skills. Verify and enter data such as demographics and insurance information into computerized scheduling and billing system during each encounter with patient. Assist clinics with referrals by entering them into the computer and scheduling follow-ups with the patients. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management. Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols. Must have the ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively as necessary. Must work as a team member and perform actions consistent with established Orthopaedic Associates, P.A. policies and procedures including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualification High school diploma or equivalent 2 years of relevant experience scheduling in a medical office environment Thorough understanding of medical office workflows 1 year of experience working with EHR Experience in Family Medicine and/or Orthopedics is a plus Skills and Abilities Communication Multi-tasker Attention to detail Ability to work in a fast pace environment Teamwork / Collaboration Ability and desire to learn new things and improve processes Ability to listen and understand patient and provider concerns Self and situational awareness

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of relevant experience scheduling in a medical office environment
  • Thorough understanding of medical office workflows
  • 1 year of experience working with EHR
