About The Position

The Call Center Representative for Primary Care/Dermatology is responsible for registering and scheduling patients' appointments by telephone, utilizing the physician scheduler and departmental guidelines. The role involves communicating with parents, patients, physicians, and other staff in a courteous manner, ensuring accurate patient information is obtained and entered into the computer management system. The representative promotes a customer service environment and handles various tasks related to patient registration and scheduling.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 1 year of experience performing patient registration and scheduling, medical insurance screening, and verification (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Register and schedule patients' appointments by telephone.
  • Communicate with parents, patients, physicians, and community doctors/staff courteously.
  • Obtain and validate patient information from various sources.
  • Ensure accurate information is entered into the computer management system.
  • Provide client support to parents/guardians via phone for online registration help.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments as needed.
  • Notify parents of the need for completed insurance referral forms or pre-authorization of treatment.
  • Discuss co-payment or payment in full requirements with parents.
  • Complete calls accurately and timely, transferring calls as needed.
  • Document authorization and information in Account Notes and fields.
  • Work with insurance companies to verify insurance eligibility and coverage.
  • Collect and verify demographic, PCP/referring physician, and insurance information.
  • Make recommendations for internal process improvements.
  • Promote safety for patients, families, visitors, and co-workers.
