Requirements

  • Energy and passion for working with elementary-aged children.
  • Desire to grow within the childcare field.
  • CPR and First Aid training certificate.
  • Basic Health and Safety training certificate.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Director and School Age Teacher in the operations of the before and after care program for school age children.
  • Implement activities to ensure the Caliday mission, vision and values are upheld.
  • Manage the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Provide a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
  • Assist in the maintenance of an attractive and informative Parent Table that is updated regularly.
  • Implement age-appropriate and stimulating activities in accordance with the provided Caliday curriculum.
  • Manage effective classroom management.
  • Assist in the supervision of children during all activities.
  • Counsel children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with the team, parents and school community.
  • Ensure that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.
  • Identify opportunities and/or problems in the program and work with the School Age Teacher and Program Director to resolve.
  • Maintain yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.
