About The Position
Huffman Family Brands and Caliday School Age Programs are excited to announce the kickoff of our Elite Sports camp series coming to the Towson area in the Summer of 2026. Housed at the Notre Dame Preparatory School campus, we will feature five different camps each week for School Age children: Basketball, Lacrosse, Soccer, Tennis, and Volleyball. Position Summary The Head Coach leads all aspects of the sports camp’s athletic programming, ensuring a safe, positive, and developmentally appropriate experience for all campers. The Head Coach oversees daily sports instruction, supervises coaching staff and assistants, fosters an inclusive and encouraging camp culture, and ensures alignment with the camp’s mission, values, and safety standards.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of youth development and age appropriate coaching practices.
- Demonstrated experience coaching children or youth sports programs.
- Knowledge of sports techniques, rules, drills, and safety protocols.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and supervise staff.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and manage program operations effectively.
- Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
- Previous youth sports coaching experience required; head coaching experience preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Completion of required camp and safety training.
- Strong leadership and team building skills.
- Effective communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Knowledge of sports fundamentals and player development.
- Ability to motivate, engage, and encourage children of varied ages and skill levels.
- Positive attitude, patience, and adaptability in a fast paced environment.
- Must be able to run, jump, demonstrate sports techniques, set up equipment, and participate in active play.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Regular standing, walking, outdoor activity, and exposure to weather conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Playing or coaching at a collegiate or club level is preferred.
