About The Position
Huffman Family Brands and Caliday School Age Programs are excited to announce the kickoff of our Elite Sports camp series coming to the Towson area in the Summer of 2026. Housed at the Notre Dame Preparatory School campus, we will feature five different camps each week for School Age children: Basketball, Lacrosse, Soccer, Tennis, and Volleyball. Apply to join our teams today! Position Summary The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate athletic programming for campers. This role helps lead daily instruction, ensures camper safety, promotes an inclusive and encouraging environment, and contributes to a positive camp culture that aligns with the camp’s mission, values, and safety expectations.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working with children or youth sports programs
- Knowledge of sports techniques, rules, drills, and safety practices.
- Ability to assist in leading groups and providing positive guidance.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and support smooth program operations.
- Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to motivate and encourage children across skill levels.
- Positive attitude, patience, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of sports fundamentals and safety practices.
- Ability to demonstrate and teach sports skills, engage in active play, and set up equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Regular standing, walking, running, and outdoor activity in varying weather.
Nice To Haves
- Previous youth sports coaching or assistant coaching experience.
- Playing or coaching at a collegiate or club level is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Completion of required camp and safety training.
