Verify all measuring devices and inspection equipment are calibrated and due dates are not expired. Maintain records of tool and equipment condition and location at all times. Maintain calibration records for all measuring equipment and devices and calibrate periodically to keep calibrations current. Use precision measuring instruments, surface tables, coordinate measuring machines, gear checkers, and other testing and measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges, etc. to inspect work and material quality of gears, housing, shafts, enclosed drive units, etc. to very close tolerance requirements. May be required to inspect commercial hardware, subcontracted or other outside machining, plating, gear box run test inspection, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, etc. Depending on product, inspection includes receiving, in-process, first article and final inspection. Monitor quality of own work to assure adherence to quality standards and prepare detailed inspection reports as required, document non-conformances. Maintain required time, production and quality records Determine and report any inefficiencies, defective materials, unusual conditions and machining issues Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures
