Position Summary: The Gage Calibration Technician is responsible for performing inspections, calibrations and repairs of gauges and measurement instruments used for product verification. This effort includes, but is not limited to, completes the associated documentation in accordance with QA, Calibration Department Standard Operating Procedure and Work Instructions. This individual works with every department to ensure products are being made and inspected up to company standards.

  • Performs inspections, calibrations and repairs of gauges and measurement instruments
  • Follows all verbal and written instructions such as department standard operating procedure, work instructions and all other QA, Calibration documentation
  • Accurately completes all documentation associated with calibrations
  • Issues, receives and delivers gauges
  • Assists in maintaining the gauge inventory
  • Assists in coordinating calibration of gauges and instruments that are calibrated by outside calibration sources
  • Ensures all test equipment and standards are calibrated and traceable to NIST standards
  • Assists in gauge recall and calibration scheduling
  • Maintains work area in a clean, organized and safe condition at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned, to maintain efficiency throughout the company
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret documentation associated with Calibration activities
  • Competency in using Optical Comparators, Toolmakers Microscope, Micrometers and other measurement instruments
  • Mechanical aptitude and good mathematical skills
  • Familiarity with ANSI Z540 calibration and ISO 17025 testing requirements preferred but not required
  • Self-starter with the ability to show initiative in assignments; willingness to continually strive to increase knowledge and skills
  • Team player, open to new ideas and team work, self-motivated individual, willingness to continually strive to increase personal knowledge and value
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and follow-up skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multi-tasking and maintaining attention to detail
  • Proficient in Windows, MS Office, especially MS Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with ANSI Z540 calibration and ISO 17025 testing requirements
