Join the Pharmaceutical Calibrations and Instrumentation (PCI) team! We are seeking a Calibration Technician III that can perform calibrations onsite at our client pharmaceutical facilities in Thousand Oaks, CA and other sites in the area if needed. If you prefer working at a fast pace, 'on the go' instead of at a desk, have a passion for performing quality work, and have a strong electronics or instrumentation background, this position may be just for you! Up to 50% travel is required based on project and client needs, as this is considered a 'field service' position, although this position is projected to be at least 75% in Thousand Oaks. This position will focus on performing preventive maintenance, qualifications, relocations and calibrations on a variety of instruments such as electronics, temperature devices, pressure gauges, centrifuges, incubators, balances, and others as found in pharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratory environments. The Calibration Technician III reports directly to the Team Leader, Manager, or Director depending on the organizational structure.

  • Complete calibrations, qualifications, and PMs with accurate and timely GxP documentation, following PCI and/or client specific policies and procedures.
  • Take a proactive role in supporting the Team and in providing client support.
  • Build a high level of trust with internal and client personnel.
  • Identify and execute tasks that enhance the ability of PCI to provide an ‘added value' service for clients.
  • Provide guidance and direction on technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot issues and assist in providing innovative, creative, effective, and long-term solutions.
  • Manage small projects and supervise technicians on those projects.
  • Develop basic quotes or proposals; assist with development of complex proposals.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed by other PCI Associates.
  • Plan and make sure project supplies and equipment are ready and available.
  • A two-year degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Electronics, or other related technical field or equivalent military training.
  • Four years of applicable (Metrology, Instrumentation, Calibration) experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Quality System/Pharmaceutical experience is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of calibration concepts and requirements including accuracy testing requirements.
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills with clients and coworkers.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and clinical research industries.
  • Knowledge of quality guidelines enforced by the FDA, EPA and ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
