About The Position

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Calibration Standards Analyst to support the Navy Calibration Laboratory at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. Reference Calibration Standards (CALSTDs) management is a vital part of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Metrology Calibration (METCAL) Program. The Calibration Standards Logistics Specialist assists the Calibration Standards Manager with determining reference CALSTDs initial outfitting requirements and the replacement and modernization processes that continually input new reference CALSTDs into the inventory as current equipment becomes unusable or obsolete. This includes, but is not limited to, development of a reliable, sustainable, standardized acquisition process; providing supportive data for measurement reliability analysis; determining and generating Calibration Standards and Equipment List (CALSEL) allowance requirements; and, conducting and analyzing Program-wide reference CALSTD inventories and accountability Specifically, the Calibration Standards Analyst provides management, oversight, program analysis and continuous evaluation and/or improvement of the following NAVAIR METCAL Program reference CALSTD inventory elements: Perform customer/fleet liaison for coordination of NAVAIR fleet/depot level reference CALSTD allowancing requirements. Continuously monitor reference CALSTD inventories for trends in usage and repair. Make recommendations to Calibration Standards Manager for replacement or relocation of reference CALSTDs when appropriate, placing emphasis on cycle time reductions and total cost of ownership (TOC) reductions. Develop, coordinate and distribute reference CALSTDs allowance lists to NAVAIR Field Calibration Activities (FCAs) and depot-level calibration laboratories. Develop and coordinate reference CALSTD Modernization Processes to provide planning, administration, fielding, and to maintain positive inventory control of the modernized reference CALSTDs fielded to replace obsolete items. Review attainment of program objectives to identify and correct deficiencies in established reference CALSTD allowancing documents. Recommend changes to METCAL Program management and initiate action to effectively incorporate approved changes. Provide funding requirements to higher-level management to meet the annual operational target goals as they pertain to all aspects of the NAVAIR METCAL reference CALSTD inventory requirements. Assess NAVAIR FCAs and depot-level calibration laboratories reference CALSTD inventories. Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions within established inventory processes. Represent the organization to major task groups who originate, review, and modify system policy plans, procedures, and goals in all matters pertaining to the NAVAIR inventory of reference CALSTDs. Recommend resolution for METCAL/logistics problems associated with reference CALSTD requirements as reported by Fleet and shore activities. Adjust budgets and logistics plans to accommodate unforeseen developments.

Requirements

  • Education: Business, Management, Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university.
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Business, Management, Technical or Scientific AS or AA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience OR an additional six (6) years of recent and relevant experience
  • Knowledge and Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of reference CALSTD acquisition life cycle phases related to Department of Defense (DOD)/Navy systems and equipment and the documentation, analyses, and reviews associated with those phases.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the logistics and administrative relationships/ responsibilities associated with implementing and maintaining measurement capability for metrology activities as evidenced by developing and managing long-range plans for establishing and retrofitting worldwide calibration facilities: knowledge of peculiar/common test and measurement systems (TAMS) integrated logistics support (ILS) requirements, and assessing, developing, documenting and monitoring capability and capacity of calibration servicing/maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge and skill necessary to develop and manage METCAL Program requirements pertaining to calibration capability. Often because of the numerous subsystems and activities involved, ability is required to take newly developed, but proven; theories and policy devised by higher levels, and apply these to developing new approaches, policies and procedures.
  • This role is 100% On-Site at the Navy Calibration Laboratory, NAS Patuxent River, MD
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
