The Propulsion Systems group at Slate is seeking an energetic, organized, and enthusiastic Calibration Engineering Intern to join our team for the Fall 2025 Semester (September – December). This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative environment. This position reports to our Troy, MI location 3 days per week.

  • Assist in integrating key parts of the software and calibrating various components for production vehicles.
  • Supporting prototype vehicle calibration and testing activities.
  • Help translate vehicle requirements/functional objectives and contribute to development and testing plans.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and various teams (e.g., Chief Engineer, architecture, purchasing, program management, and quality engineers) to ensure successful launch and release.
  • Assist in defining, executing, and design verification plans (DVP) and reporting.
  • Support production ramp-up and resolve field issues.
  • Document and manage calibration changes.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be a Junior or Senior in college.
  • Strong desire to learn and gain experience in propulsion systems, calibration, and testing.
  • Basic understanding of software and the ability to review documents to learn and understand software.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
