Raytheon Vision Systems is looking for a Calibration and Maintenance Engineer in Goleta, CA, while providing support at our Lompoc site as needed. This role is responsible for implementing inspection, calibration and preventative maintenance procedures to ensure the optimal performance condition of sophisticated machinery and specialized process equipment are met. This will involve system calibrations on alignment equipment, specialized processing, ECA monitoring systems, and test equipment. In addition, diagnostics to perform repairs, machinery, or instruments to ensure that it is functioning reliably to meet process specifications. You will participate in new calibration development on capital equipment, support collecting equipment data and sampling, and respond to production equipment emergencies, breakdowns, malfunctions, and other operating problems to minimize disruptions to manufacturing processes. Maintain technical detailed calibration and maintenance records for quality assurance to address root cause and corrective actions on reoccurring problems. This role may require occasional off-hours support to meet factory demands.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum of 2 years' related experience or an advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience in Equipment Repair, Test, Calibration and/or Maintenance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Special Test Equipment.
  • Experience with electro / mechanical devices.
  • Experience writing calibrations procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills, be dependable, ability to follow through on multiple concurrent assignments, and flourish in a cross functional team environment.
  • Experience in calibration and repairing microscopes, metrology equipment, Life Safety and Environmental monitoring devices, measurement and test equipment.
  • Technical Military Training / Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate technical documentation effectively both written and verbally.
  • Read Engineering schematics, technical drawings and calibration procedures.
  • Identify failures using basic electronic test equipment and common hand/power tools.
  • Work in a clean room environment, capable of lifting 28 lbs.
  • Adhere to environmental health and safety programs including electrical safety, Lockout Tagout, gas safety, hazardous materials, material handling, and wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Perform hands on system calibrations and diagnostics, repair and maintenance on alignment, test, and ECA monitoring equipment.
  • Perform work in various levels of cleanroom environments.
  • Collaborate with cross functional groups communicating equipment status.
  • Provide Engineering Solutions and recommendations on process equipment failures.
  • Daily technical details and inputs on work performed.
