The Cal Teach Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach Cal Teach math and/or science seminars (EDUC 50B, EDUC 50C, EDUC 100A, EDUC 100B, EDUC 100C, EDUC 185L). These are seminar courses designed to introduce undergraduate math, science, and engineering majors to secondary math and science teaching careers; support and augment their K-12 internship experience; and develop teaching skills, especially skills addressing the needs of students in high-need schools. Selected candidates will join an instructional team offering approximately eight classes each year, a sequence of seminars for groups of math majors, science majors, or combined math and science majors. Selected candidates will coordinate with the larger instructional team and with the Cal Teach staff to maintain coherence of the course sequence and to resolve issues that arise in student internship placements.
