About The Position

This is a floating position between Carthage Area Hospital and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. A Polysomnographic Technologist provides sleep disorder assessments, care planning, analyses, and direct delivery of treatment utilizing professional AASM care processes in accordance with licensure and regulatory standards. Prepares patient appropriately and safely for sleep study and monitors patient throughout the study, observing for cardiac rhythm and respiration abnormalities. Reports any information to physician.

Requirements

• NYS licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Board Registered Polysomnography and registered with New York State office of professions as an Authorized Polysomnographic Technologist.
• Graduate from an education program in polysomnography accredited by CAAHEP or CoARC.
• Must be BLS certified.
• Must complete Adult Rhythm Learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide sleep disorder assessments and care planning.
• Analyze and deliver treatment utilizing AASM care processes.
• Prepare patients safely for sleep studies.
• Monitor patients throughout the sleep study.
• Observe for cardiac rhythm and respiration abnormalities.
• Report findings to the physician.
