About The Position

The Cafeteria Worker position at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center involves performing various duties related to the operation of the cash register or point of sale (POS) system. The worker will stock condiments and supplies throughout their shift, portion and assemble meals for customers in a timely, tactful, and professional manner, and clean up the cafeteria work station after each meal. Additionally, the worker will dispense food for patient meals and activities, maintain assigned department areas in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner, and ensure that the dish room area is cleaned and sanitized according to correct procedures. The role also includes transporting and storing food and supplies to maintain food quality, contributing to the productivity and cost-effectiveness of the department, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards to ensure quality food. The position supports Food and Nutrition Services by providing clerical duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience working with POS systems in high volume situations preferred.
• Basic knowledge of proper portion sizes preferred.
• Knowledge and application of loss prevention measures preferred.
• Serv-safe certification preferred.
