About The Position

The Child Nutrition Cafeteria Worker is responsible for assisting in the overall duties required to maintain an effective and efficient food preparation facility. This includes preparation and serving of USDA reimbursable meals and Ala Carte items, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and practicing sanitary food handling procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Previous food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and serving of USDA reimbursable meals and Ala Carte items.
• Gather supplies from storeroom, freezer, or refrigerator and deliver to designated work area.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work area, including cleaning of equipment, utensils, and serving and dining areas.
• Maintain appropriate personal health and hygiene, and continuously practice sanitary food handling procedures.
• Label and date food items prior to proper storage.
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

• 177 Days per year.
• 6 Hours per day.
• Salary range of $14.00 - $15.47 an hour.
