The primary responsibilities of the Cafeteria Technician are to prepare nutritious food for students and adults in the manner directed, to serve meals to students and adults in a pleasant, efficient, and effective manner as directed, and to clean all cafeteria equipment, dishes, utensils, furniture, and floors on a daily basis after meals are served as directed in order to promote a clean, safe, and healthy cafeteria. The full-time Cafeteria Technician is employed for 186 days as designated on the school district calendar on the basis of a 35-hour work week. Part-time technicians are employed 5.5 hours per day for the number of days required by the school calendar. The Cafeteria Technician's salary is commensurate with years of experience on the Support Personnel Salary Schedule most recently adopted by the St. Bernard Parish School Board.
