Requirements

• Previous food service, kitchen, or cafeteria experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines - training will be provided
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• A positive attitude and a commitment to providing nutritious meals to students.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, serving, distributing food and clean up
• Setting the team up for success by preparing the condiments and utensil areas
• Contributing to a positive work environment
• Demonstrating integrity, dependability, and punctuality
• Maintaining a professional appearance
• Following food safety requirements/guidelines
• Performing other duties as requested by the leadership team
• Assisting in preparing and assembling meals, including pizzas, salads, and other school menu items
• Cross-training and assisting in various kitchen duties, including meal prep, cooking, serving, dishwashing, and cleaning
• Maintaining proper food handling, storage, and sanitation standards in compliance with HACCP guidelines and district policies
• Assisting in serving meals efficiently to students and staff while maintaining a friendly and welcoming environment
• Helping with stocking, organizing, and rotating food supplies to minimize waste
• Operating kitchen equipment safely and reporting any maintenance issues
• Working collaboratively with the kitchen staff and following supervisor instructions to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
