About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY & PURPOSE: Prepares food and performs a variety of cafeteria duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid SC driver's license
• Some dietary knowledge (food and nutrition) required.
• Exposure to heat.
• Ability to reach stored food for preparation.

Nice To Haves

• Food preparation and cafeteria experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs food preparation.
• Performs cooking.
• Assures all equipment and surroundings are sanitary.
• Uses equipment and appliances and reports any problems to supervisor.
• Helps individuals that are assigned to kitchen duty to perform their assigned tasks.
• Acts in the absence of the Cafeteria Supervisor.
• Attends initial Burton Center staff orientation, in-services and workshops as appropriate to enhance job performance.
• Follows diets and menus as prescribed by dietitian, insuring proper serving portion size.
