About The Position

The Glass Jar, Inc. is looking for a positive and dedicated Assistant Manager who is a skilled leader and thinker, capable of operating The Picnic Basket with support from the management team. The Assistant Manager works with the Cafe & Market Manager to direct and support the Picnic Basket team. Management sets the standard for all sales, service and operations in a highly dynamic space. The Assistant Manager is available on a consistent and reliable basis and is comfortable addressing The Picnic Basket operational/staffing needs as they arise. This hands -on position upholds and models our high standards of excellence in product, service, and hospitality. The Assistant Manager is critical in creating and maintaining ongoing stability for our staff, operations, and company culture. This person has a strong sense of ownership and accountability. The Assistant Manager builds and nurtures vital relationships with team members, management, vendors, patrons and the surrounding community.

Requirements

Desire to work successfully in a fast -paced, high -volume, and hands -on environment.
Managerial experience in a food service establishment.
Ability to prioritize, while being detail -oriented.
Ability to lead, support, direct, and collaboratively build the Picnic Basket team.
An interest in management of shops that strive to be a nexus for community and local, sustainable food.
An interest or current participation in local food movements, food systems, and sustainable business.
Ability to work 35+ hours a week consistently.
The schedule for this position requires work on weekdays, weekends, and holidays; opening and closing availability is required. Scheduling requirements reflect the consistent needs of the business.
