About The Position

The Tryst Trading Company food group is looking for a Cafe Lead (CL) to join our team of amazing individuals who share a genuine passion for creating and serving great food and drinks, and who enjoy working in a place that promotes a culture of building meaningful connections with our guests and amongst our staff. The CL duties include, but are not limited to: Running floor shifts as the Manager on Duty (MOD); Performing Barista, Counter, Cook & Porter tasks as needed or directed by the Cafe Manager (CM); Managing Guest expectations and relations; Ensuring staff comply with company policy and standards; Notate staff performance and behavior issues in Paycom Discussions; Assist with staff training; Assist with Cash Handling; Assist with Inventory & Ordering; Assist with troubleshoot facilities and equipment issues; Assist with monitoring and reporting quality control issues to CM; Assist with Private Dining & special events; Perform and/or assist with projects and other duties as assigned by CM. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English required
  • Must have good people management and listening skills
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Demonstrated time management, multitasking and organizational skills
  • Must work well under pressure
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays
  • High School Degree desired
  • 6+ months cafe or restaurant experience
  • Food Handler license (company will assist with obtaining)
  • Must possess our Core Values of being unpretentious, fun at heart, passionate, mindful in the moment, and demonstrating an all-for-one-and-one-for-all attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Conversational Spanish is a plus but not required
  • Management or supervisory experience a big plus
