The job of Cafe Cook is done for the purpose/s of cooking, baking and preparing food items that meet mandated nutritional requirements and/or requests of students/staff; verifying quantities and specifications of orders; and maintaining facilities in a safe and sanitary condition. This job reports to the Cafe Site Manager. Cleans utensils, equipment, as well as storage, food preparation and serving areas; estimates food preparation amounts; evaluates prepared food for flavor, appearance and temperature; inspects and inventories food items and/or supplies; oversees and participates in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverage items; prepares documentation, (e.g. production sheets, daily reports, inventory logs, equipment order forms, etc.); procures food items, equipment and supplies from warehouse and/or outside vendors; serves one or more items of food (selected locations only); stocks food, condiments and supplies; assists other personnel as may be required; maintains confidentiality of student school lunch eligibility and participates in various activities (e.g. estimate/requisition food quantities, marketing activities, barbeques, picnics, etc.).
