We are hiring a Cook / Line Cook - Bistro Style Cook to help prepare fresh meals, café favorites, and baked goods in our resident Bistro. This is a hands-on cooking role with interaction with residents, making it perfect for someone who enjoys both food and people. Located in South Windsor, CT – serving the Greater Hartford area including Manchester, East Hartford, Vernon, Ellington, Glastonbury, Windsor Locks, Enfield, and West Hartford. What Makes This Role Different This is not a typical back-of-house kitchen job. Our Bistro Cook works front and center, creating a warm café experience for residents while preparing fresh meals and baked goods. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork
  • Good time management and organization skills
  • Must pass a criminal background screening

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of cooking experience in a restaurant, café, senior living, or food service environment
  • Experience as a Cook, Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Kitchen Team Member preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare fresh meals, salads, and café-style favorites
  • Cook and present food that is visually appealing and delicious
  • Take resident orders and interact with residents during service
  • Prepare baked goods and light café items
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
  • Follow standardized recipes and food safety guidelines
  • Assist with dishwashing and proper kitchen sanitation
  • Work closely with the Dining Services Director and kitchen team
