We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Café Attendant to support the daily operations of our cafe and occasional special events. The successful candidate will ensure the cafe food and beverage service buffets are well executed, thoughtfully set up, consistently maintained, and cleaned up daily. The candidate will also assist with dishwashing and helping the chef as needed, though no cooking will be required. This role is key to creating a welcoming environment for guests and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in catering, food service, or hospitality preferred.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage cafe and catering responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the cafe and dining area, including handling food and beverage preparation, and ensuring the space is clean and well-organized.
  • Assist in the set-up, breakdown, and cleanup of food service.
  • Stock and replenish café items (buffet, breakfast, lunch, coffee, pastries, snacks, etc.) as needed.
  • Assist with dishwashing daily, as needed.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service to cafe patrons, addressing requests and inquiries promptly.
  • Maintain a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for customers, ensuring the café is clean and inviting.
  • Monitor cafe inventory levels and work with the General Manager to order supplies when needed.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen, catering, and facilities teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Communicate any guest feedback or special requests to the catering or café manager.
  • Assist in light food preparation as required, under the direction of the culinary team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations.
