Portland Coffee Roasters is adding regular positions to its team at our PDX Airport Cafe and looking for early morning A.M. Baristas to provide quality drinks and service! Hiring for early morning, weekend Barista: four hour shifts; 12-16 hrs/week Part-time position earning $16.80/hr, averaging $21-$24 per hour after tips! Paid vacation + paid sick leave. Portland Roasting provided in-house, ongoing coffee and espresso training. Employee Assistance Program(s) Bi-annual performance and merit reviews Free and Discounted Coffee Benefits And much more… Job Summary: Reporting the the Café Manager, the Café Barista position demonstrates exceptional hospitality skills through extraordinary customer service to all PDX travelers as well as Port of Portland employees. Is able to expertly prepare high quality beverages, deliver excellent product knowledge, and develop superior barista skills. Café Baristas are responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment that is safe and meets Portland Coffee Roasters expectations.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve beverages that adhere to Portland Coffee Roasters freshness, quality and presentation standards.
Ensure customers are warmly received and welcomed; engage customers in a sincere, friendly and professional manner, including greeting customers with a smile, thanking them for their patronage, talking about their drink preference, making suggestions when appropriate – all in an expedient manner.
Maintain coffee knowledge on all Portland Coffee Roasters offerings and confidently and accurately communicating that knowledge to customers.
Actively participate in coffee and tea tastings to further product knowledge and help identify any issues or deficiencies.
Continuously demonstrate an ongoing pursuit of education, training, and industry trends.
Complete and attend all mandatory and ongoing training sessions required by Portland Coffee to constantly advance education on coffee, tea, merchandise, and espresso bar skills.
Adhere to all company and PDX Port policies and protocols including those for cash handling, safety and security all while maintaining a clean and organized work space.
Ensure that the company’s brand is properly reflected by keeping a well maintained, clean, well-organized and stocked coffee bar.
Uphold Portland Coffee Roasters standards regarding merchandising, inventory and rotation of store products.
Offer relevant, thoughtful, ideas and suggestions for improving operations
Ensure adherence to our dress code, as well as all food safety and OSHA safety requirements.
