About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Retail Manager and Food Service Supervisors, the cafeteria attendant responsibilities include prepare and serve foods in the cafe, clean and stock cafe stations, maintain cleanliness of cafe and serving areas, serve as cashier as assigned/needed. Understands all essential positions of the cafeteria/retail area and can complete tasks as needed without assistance. Practices safe food handling and HACCP guidelines. Provides excellent customer service to all cafe patrons. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.

High School Diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

Preps, sets-up, serves and maintains assigned cafe station: Cashier, Chef table, Salad bar, Deli, Grill or Entree line. Follows closing procedures for assigned station.
Follows all recipes, retail guidelines and portioning guidelines for assigned station.
Cleans and sanitizes work area according to established procedures. Follows cleaning schedules or assignments and practices clean as you go guidelines. Sweeps and mops floors and removes garbage as needed.
Follow quality and safety controls according to HACCP guidelines.
Replenish food and supplies to cafe, or catering events, if needed.
Completes all temperature logs and HACCP logs.
Provides excellent customer service through friendly, respectful and helpful interactions with all customers and resolves customer complaints or concerns with the assistance of the Retail Manager or Food Services Supervisor.
When assigned as cashier, follows all cash register and money handling rules and guidelines. Maintains cash balance for register with no or minimal discrepancies.
Assists others as necessary and asks for help when needed.
Participates in daily huddles and assists management, as appropriate, in performing tasks conducive to efficient and effective operation of the department.
Effectively communicates with co-workers for successful completion of duties. Checks out with manager or supervisor before leaving for breaks and end of shift.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area
