Opened in Newport, RI June 2022, MOZZ 's cheesemaking facility, eatery, pizzeria al taglio, café and specialty market is focused on sharing the beauty of MOZZARELLA and all things food with the community. MOZZ ( short for mozzarella ) is our craft, our passion, our ritual. Passed down from generations of Italian Cheesemakers to us, it's our responsibility and honor to share these little traditions. We are seeing an enthusiastic, confident leader to join MOZZ's retail management team as Café Manager at our Newport location.

Requirements

  • Must love cheese
  • Previous P&L and management experience required
  • Prior kitchen experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Must have a customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to model teamwork and lead a team
  • Must be approachable, mindful and positive
  • Solid proven management and problem solving skills
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback in any given situation
  • Available to work weekends and weekdays alike
  • Must be available for 20-25 hours a week

Responsibilities

  • Oversee retail staff and café operations
  • Possess an in depth knowledge of MOZZ products, principles, and policies
  • Ensure outstanding customer experience and superior product quality
  • Strive to exceed cafe's financial goals
  • Develop a motivated team committed to delivering premium products and excellent experiences
  • Promote teamwork and robust, positive communication among staff
  • Build deep and rich relationships with the café 's regulars and guests
  • Lead a customer-focused café experience by modeling and coaching outstanding hospitality at every opportunity
  • Actively monitor drink and food quality and help ensure drink and good standards are being met
  • Create and manage weekly schedules; café , staff, deliveries, cleaning, maintenance, management meetings
  • Manage multiple revenue drivers within a single space
  • Enthusiastically drive top line and support key marketing initiatives
  • Proactively manage bottom line and continuously develop and implement café and company efficiencies
  • Facilitate and execute employee review process
  • Ensure that all employees are trained and performing to MOZZ standards
  • Maintain café's equipment and schedule regular maintenance
  • Keep café immaculately organized and clean at all times
  • Follow disciplinary protocol outlined in MOZZ handbook
  • Recruit, interview and hire candidates as needed to maintain a stellar staff
  • Control costs without compromising standards and customer service
  • Develop and implement strategy to exceed café top and bottom line financial goals
