About The Position

Grace Farms is a cultural and humanitarian center in New Canaan, Connecticut, that brings people together across sectors to explore nature, arts, justice, community, and faith at the SANAA-designed River building and Barns on 80 acres of publicly accessible natural landscape. Since opening in 2015, it has garnered numerous prestigious awards for contributions to architecture, environmental sustainability, and social good and has become a destination for arts, culture, and community. Grace Farms has welcomed 1 million visitors from around the world to experience innovative programming in music, visual and performing arts, while fostering contemplation and connection through architecture and nature. Grace Farms' humanitarian work includes leading the Design for Freedom movement to eliminate forced labor in the building materials supply chain and advancing initiatives to foster more grace and peace locally and globally. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hospitality, food service, or event operations, with prior supervisory or leadership experience in a café or kitchen environment with proven track record of successful team leadership, delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a confident, customer-focused approach characterized by professionalism, kindness, and approachability.
  • Experience coordinating events, catering service, or high-volume meal operations.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities in fast-paced, dynamic service environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, including real-time guest service troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and operational standards in hospitality environments.
  • Comfortable using POS systems, service tracking tools, and internal communication platforms.
  • Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and ServSafe standards preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications,
  • Ability to work a Tuesday – Saturday schedule with the flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.
  • High School Diploma (or Equivalent) Required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the site for extended periods during events, programs, and dining service.
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to effectively manage event activities, monitor environments, and communicate with staff, vendors, and guests.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed for service setup, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, stand and perform other physical movements as required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, including use of POS systems, kitchen tools, and service items.
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to monitor service, guest needs, and team communication.
  • Ability to maintain focus and perform tasks in fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes high-volume environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Front of House (FOH) Supervisor for daily food service and internal catering functions.
  • Provide direct supervision, training, coaching and on-the-floor leadership to FOH staff, ensuring efficient service flow, high hospitality standards, consistent performance, and positive guest experience.
  • Act as the primary liaison between FOH and Back of House (BOH) teams to ensure clear communication, coordination, and operational alignment.
  • Lead daily pre-service briefings, assign roles and coverage, set and communicate service priorities and expectations. Monitor pace, guest flow, service quality and overall experience throughout daily service and events
  • Model, reinforce, and uphold Grace Farms' hospitality standards, service philosophy, and brand values.
  • Proactively address guest concerns and resolve service challenges in real time with professionalism and care.
  • Provide oversight of catering setup, breakdown, and delegation of FOH duties beyond active service periods.
  • Support food expediting as needed, coordinating timing and pacing with the Chefs and kitchen team. Verify order accuracy, presentation standards and dietary restrictions prior to food being served.
  • Ensure FOH spaces are guest-ready, properly stocked, clean, and well-maintained throughout service and events. Also responsible for ensuring that all FOH equipment are properly used, maintained and that the FOH staff are following current and up to date department SOPs.
  • Uphold all safety, cleanliness, food handling, and operational standards in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
