Responsibilities

  • Treat people fairly, consistently, and with respect.
  • Ensure efficient, informative, and friendly service according to established customer service vision and standards.
  • Greet customers at counter and assist them in a timely manner.
  • Handle customer question and complaints.
  • Promptly serve customer’s orders and check for and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Check out customer’s purchases quickly and accurately, using correct prices, codes and departments.
  • Provide samples and information of the products sold in the department.
  • Follow proper procedures in opening, closing, and maintaining all café areas including: deli station, bakery case, beverage station, and seating area.
  • Ensure areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and rotated backstock.
  • Follow sanitation guidelines with regards to food handling, serving, and storing.
  • Stock service items, including china, paper products, packaging products, and miscellaneous items.
  • Advise café manager of equipment repair / replacement needs.
  • Follow safety guidelines in regards to lifting, knife handling, equipment operation, etc.
  • Prep ingredients for production.
  • Backup café kitchen staff when needed.
  • Attend department meetings as scheduled.
  • Abide by all Co-op policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents.
  • Keep store orderly and clean.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by department manager or supervisory staff.
