Café Attendant / Barista
About The Position
Join us for this incredible opportunity to be part of our Food & Beverage team at Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, just outside of Charleston, SC. The Café Attendant / Barista is responsible for creating a welcoming and memorable experience for our guests at Hudson Market. This role involves preparing and serving specialty coffee drinks, beverages, and food items while upholding the highest standards of guest service, cleanliness, and efficiency. The Café Attendant / Barista ensures product quality, accuracy, and presentation while embodying Wild Dunes Resort's service culture. This position may also assist with job responsibilities in the Sweet Shoppe @ Wild Dunes Resort.
Requirements
- Previous barista, café, or food & beverage experience preferred; hospitality/resort/Coffee Shop experience a plus.
- Strong guest service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash accurately.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible schedule availability, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Team-oriented, reliable, and enthusiastic personality.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a friendly, engaging, and professional manner, providing exceptional service.
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, smoothies, and other beverages to recipe and brand standards.
- Accurately take orders, operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, and handle cash/credit transactions.
- Assist with food preparation, stocking, and merchandising of pastries, snacks, and market items.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, counters, seating areas, and displays.
- Monitor product freshness, rotate stock, and assist with inventory control.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and resort standards.
- Support teammates and communicate effectively to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, specials, and resort offerings.
- Uphold the values of Wild Dunes Resort: hospitality, professionalism, and a focus on the guest.
