The Broward Sheriff's Office is offering condensed testing for out of area candidates, with Human Resources coordinating the selection process to minimize travel. Applicants are responsible for all travel expenses. Before submitting the online application, candidates must complete the Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (CJBAT), Swimming, and Physical Agility Tests, and gather all required documents. This entry-level position provides practical experience and exposure to law enforcement functions within the Broward County Sheriff's Office, including attending a Police Academy for preparatory training. Cadets must achieve a minimum score of 75% on at least one Physical Profile test to remain in the Academy. Upon successful completion of the Academy and State Officer Certification Exam, candidates will be eligible for the position of Certified Law Enforcement Deputy Sheriff with an annual salary of $61,969.28 plus a 4% First Responder pay supplement.
