About The Position

Parsons is seeking an experienced CADD Manager to support NCDOT projects and regional alternative delivery transportation projects. This role will lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of CADD standards, and workflows across multiple disciplines using Bentley design platforms. The CADD Manager will play a critical role in maintaining model integrity, supporting production teams, and ensuring compliance with NCDOT standards, project-specific requirements, and alternative delivery schedules. This position sits at the intersection of technology, design production, and project delivery, translating complex design intent into clean, coordinated digital models that move the project forward. This position can be located in either the Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC area. For the right candidate, a remote opportunity may be considered.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, Design, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of CADD experience, with 5+ years in a CADD leadership or management role
  • Extensive experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation
  • Working knowledge of ProjectWise and Bentley digital delivery workflows
  • Experience supporting alternative delivery projects (Design-Build, Progressive DB, CMGC)
  • Ability to manage multiple disciplines and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with technical and non-technical team members

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience on NCDOT Design-Build or Progressive Design-Build projects
  • Strong understanding of NCDOT CADD standards, manuals, and digital submittal requirements
  • Experience with OpenBridge, OpenDrainage, OpenUtilities, or model-based quantity workflows
  • Familiarity with model-based design, 3D corridor modeling, and digital construction support
  • Experience developing CADD execution plans for large, multi-team projects
  • Ability to train and mentor teams across multiple offices or JV partners

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the CADD manager for projects, directly supporting roadway, structures, drainage, utilities, MOT, ITS, Signing and ROW teams.
  • Partner with discipline leads, task leads, and project managers to align CADD requirements with design requirements, schedule, and staffing plans.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific CADD standards, workflows, and best practices consistent with NCDOT requirements
  • Configure and manage Bentley applications to support production teams, including OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, and related tools.
  • Establish and maintain seed files, levels, symbology, cells, line styles, and workspace configurations
  • Coordinate with ProjectWise administrators to support internal document control, permissions, and workflows.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for CADD staff and designers.
  • Ensure consistent application of NCDOT CADD standards and naming conventions
  • Coordinate model integration and cross-discipline alignment in a model environment
  • Lead quality control reviews of models, plans, and digital deliverables prior to submittals.
  • Support internal planning for staffing, production sequencing, and milestone submittals.
  • Support alternative delivery milestones including ATC development, interim submittals, pricing sets, and RFC packages
  • Train and mentor staff on Bentley tools and project standards
  • Serve as Parsons’ point of contact for internal CADD coordination with JV partners and external stakeholders as needed
