CADD Drafter/Designer - Substation / Photovoltaic (PV)/ BESS / Wind

About the position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a drafter/designer. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical and physical drafting and design work for electrical substations and renewable energy projects ranging from 4 kV to 500 kV. The successful candidate will perform drafting in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation related to electrical substations and renewable energy facilities. Controls design will involve preparation of drawings to include mapping layouts, general arrangements, and one-line, three-line, DC schematics, wiring diagrams and such like.

Responsibilities

• Preparing complete drawings of utility scale BESS or PV layouts, facilities or general arrangements including section and detail views and profiles in a manner to provide clear and concise representation of facilities.
• Preparing electrical single lines, aux power, SCADA wiring drawings.
• Preparation of project drawings through preliminary selection of alternatives, layouts and arrangements.
• Preparation of BOMs and using excel tools to quantify lengths, parts and pieces, etc.
• Demonstrating personal development of technical knowledge through interface with the engineering departments in the execution and review of project assignments.
• Assisting in the training and advancement of skills for other, less-experienced designing and drafting department personnel.
• Preparing complete drawings of structures, layouts, facilities or general arrangements including section and detail views and profiles in a manner to provide clear and concise representation of facilities.
• Preparing electrical single lines, AC & DC schematics and wiring drawings.

Requirements

• 2+ years' of experience drafting and/or designing electrical PV facilities, Wind facilities, BESS yards or substations, including schematics, wiring diagrams, physical layout and facility design required.
• Proven effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Results oriented and capable of completing design assignments with minimal direction.
• Effective in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interface with team members and clients.
• Strong work ethic with attention to detail, quality, schedule and budget.
• Occasional travel/driving may be required.
• Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
