We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor with a CADAC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor) certification and at least one year of experience working with clients with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) in a Detox or Residential Treatment Center (RTC) setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing trauma-informed care and counseling services to clients with a history of trauma and high levels of emotional reactivity. This position requires a strong ability to build therapeutic rapport, handle crisis situations, and support clients through the early stages of recovery. As a Counselor, you will provide individual and group counseling, offering supportive, evidence-based counseling services to individuals and groups, guiding clients through the detox and recovery process. You will conduct comprehensive intake assessments to understand each client's substance use history, mental health status, and trauma background. Collaborating with clients, you will develop and implement personalized treatment plans, setting achievable goals and strategies for sobriety and emotional wellness. Utilizing trauma-informed approaches to counseling, you will recognize the impact of past trauma on addiction and provide sensitive and effective care. In crisis situations, you will respond with de-escalation techniques and immediate support, ensuring safety and stabilization. Accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and interventions will be maintained in accordance with facility and regulatory standards. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential to ensure comprehensive care for clients in both detox and residential settings. You will educate clients on relapse prevention techniques and coping strategies, supporting their long-term sobriety and recovery. Where appropriate, you will facilitate family counseling sessions to help rebuild relationships and support systems, providing crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing heightened emotional distress or behavioral challenges, ensuring their safety and well-being.
