About The Position

As a CAD technician you will be responsible for designing mechanical systems for technical drawings and submissions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of CAD experience preferred.
• Minimum high school diploma or CAD Certification.
• Basic understanding of building design and mechanical processes.
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually on projects.
• Excellent time management skills and strong communication skills.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
• Excellent professionalism, communication, detail oriented, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Following complex instructions, piping diagrams, and specifications to create or modify mechanical piping and ductwork drawings.
• Taking verbal direction and implementing sketches and calculations to produce the final work for field installation and pre-fabrication.
• Coordinating filing, storage and retrieval of drawings.
• Being able to define routing issues and prove solutions for RFIs or design build efforts.
• Visiting sites to gather points and system verifications.
• Occasionally conduct or witness coordination meetings with architects, engineers, building services and other construction workers in producing plans and drawings.
• Knowledge in using different software packages, such as AutoCAD/Navisworks/RIVET, to convey instructions about materials, technical specifications, assembly procedures, measurements and site requirements.
• Assisting the CAD department manager develop the existing system database.
