About The Position

The CAD Technician's primary responsibilities include reviewing and comprehending drawings from various disciplines before initiating drafting efforts, understanding project scope, specifications, and design criteria, and interpreting redline instructions on marked-up drawings. This role involves drafting plans from various disciplines using design and drafting standards under direct supervision, as well as developing cross-divisional relationships and providing HELIX support. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 0-3 years of relevant industrial experience in drafting and design or related coursework.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, MicroStation or both.
  • Knowledge and application of CAD drafting standards.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and comprehending drawings from various disciplines before initiating drafting effort on any specific item.
  • Understanding project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment.
  • Interpreting redline instructions reflected on marked up drawings.
  • Draft plans from various disciplines using design and drafting standards under direct supervision.
  • Develop cross divisional relationships, and provide HELIX support under direct supervision.
