About The Position

EMH&T is currently seeking a Civil Engineering CAD Technician to join our commercial Development II team located in Columbus, OH.

Our CAD Technician works collaboratively with the engineering team to draft technical engineering design components, assist with preliminary and completed layouts, design concepts, and detailed design drawings from technical notes, sketches, and/or other drawings.

Our Development II team typically works on projects that involve commercial site development design in industries including data centers, hospitals, manufacturing, and more.

Requirements

• A self-starter that demonstrates dependability and consistent work efforts.
• Ability to work independently and enjoy working in a team environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to express ideas clearly.
• Some technical education, specialized training or work experience with one or more CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Microstation, ARC/INFO.
• Knowledge of basic math (geometry) involved in the production and use of drawings or models.
• Experience with drafting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carries out a variety of drafting assignments using independent judgment and initiative.
• Prepares layouts, drawings and designs according to engineering specifications using CAD software.
• Retrieves information from files, edits, produces hardcopies and updates drawings/designs.
• Reviews engineering drawings and documentation, resolves undefined details.
