About The Position

The CAD Technician is a critical role in ensuring Fiber Pads customers vision and products are delivered to exact specifications. They are primarily responsible for interpreting complex technical information; 3D models, drawings, and other engineering documents to model tooling. This role works closely with the production team to ensure the models are correct and make modifications or adjustments when necessary. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, precise measurements and passion for producing quality products that further the Fiber Pad mission of producing the highest quality products for their customers. This role works under established guidelines and procedures.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of Modeling / Design experience
Experience with Solid works CAD software.
Ability to create technical documents such Standard Operating Procedures and other required documentation.
Ability to provide instruction and leadership to other team members in a professional manner.
Advanced communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and tasks at once with interruptions.
Strong editing, proofreading and math skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to interact with customers and Leadership in a professional manner.
High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality.
Ability to collaborate and work well within a team environment, and willingness to motivate and support others, supporting the Core Values of Fiber Pad.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Thermoforming Mold design and Trim fixtures is a plus
Knowledge of manufacturing processes for Thermoforming and CNC machining is a plus

Responsibilities

Create 3D models of vacuum forming and Trim fixture tooling
Create 3D models from paper drawings and other legacy engineering documents
Create 2D prints and 3rd angle projection for tooling and part drawings
Create BOMS to manufacture new tooling.
Validate tools per the 3D model after fabrication.
Participate in customer design reviews, and new project onboarding.
Support Engineering and production groups with technical data and model analysis.
Adhere to safety protocols while working around materials and equipment.
Assist in all phases of housekeeping to keep the facility clean and organized to help maintain a neat and tidy work area.
Perform other duties as needed or assigned by leadership.
