About the position
The Entry-Level CAD Technician will join the Production Team at a duct fabrication shop, focusing on converting mechanical plans into CAD drawings for ductwork fabrication. This role requires strong spatial reasoning, math skills, and attention to detail, with no prior professional experience necessary. The position is based in Manassas, VA, and is not remote.
Responsibilities
- Convert mechanical plans to CAD drawings for quoting and fabricating ductwork.
- Read specifications closely to ensure drawn duct conforms to them.
- Communicate with customers via email regarding missing information or special requests.
- Occasionally communicate with customers via phone.
- Use a CAM program to fabricate duct from drawings.
- Maintain documentation and check all work thoroughly.
Requirements
- Strong spatial reasoning skills.
- Comfortable with math.
- Above-average computer skills.
- Patience and attention to detail.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the mechanical or HVAC industry.
- Experience with CAD programs.
