We are a leader in engineering, manufacturing, and distribution of hydraulic systems and controls for the mobile and industrial OEM markets. Certified Powers Snow and ICE group is also a leading manufacturer of Snowplow Controls, Salt Spreader controls, and Telematics-based fleet management. Our new Fleet Pilot system is the most advanced system on the market. The CAD Supervisor leads the CAD design team, overseeing workflow, resource planning, and quality control. This role establishes CAD standards, manages software tools, and upgrades, and ensures efficient collaboration between design and engineering teams. Expected to balance strategic thinking with detailed execution and solid cross-functional, collaborative, results-oriented work. Work will take place in a fast-paced environment where every day brings new challenges and new opportunities.

Requirements

  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical personnel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Able to apply technical problem-solving skills and knowledge to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Associate degree in CAD Design OR Mechanical Drafting/Design
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading a Design/CAD team
  • Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks 3D Modeling
  • Experience with ERP business systems - Able to enter BOM’s, perform inventory searches, and generate basic reports
  • Design records documentation control knowledge
  • Travel requirements: Up to15%

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the CAD team
  • Lead, manage, develop, and coach a team of CAD designers
  • Prioritize and assign work to ensure commitment dates are held and work is balanced across the team
  • Think strategically while managing the day-to-day business, including capital and operating budget discipline, resource allocations, and growth planning
  • Annual performance reviews and ongoing coaching and mentorship for the team
  • Develop a culture where accountability, transparency, and collaboration are the norm; empowering the team to excel and grow in their roles
  • Communication with sales and operations on project committed dates
  • Work with sales leadership to prioritize critical projects
  • Primary responsibility is to develop detailed assemblies and system drawings in SolidWorks to support the engineering team
  • Support the pre- and post-production engineering process
  • Layout 3D model assemblies from a solid model library of components
  • Layout 3D model assemblies from a solid model library of components
  • Create solid models of custom manifolds
  • Develop/Revise/Update accurate Bills of Materials that match system assemblies using standard inter-company components and drawing practices
  • Assist design engineering team with new designs and documentation when time permits
  • Follow file workflows and inter-company modeling/drawing/filename standards defined by the SolidWorks vault management system.
