What's your day like? As a CAD/PAD Project Engineer at PTI Technologies in Oxnard, CA, you will play a pivotal role in the development, scale-up, and production support of energetic materials and chemical formulations for aerospace and defense applications. Your responsibilities will encompass controlled chemical mixing, process optimization, and ensuring safety compliance as you transition formulations from laboratory settings to pilot and full-scale manufacturing environments. You will work collaboratively with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and safety teams to establish robust processes that are repeatable and compliant. Key duties include developing and validating mixing processes, designing mixing equipment, conducting capability studies, and improving operational yield and consistency. Additionally, you will engage in new product introductions and perform root cause analyses for any process deviations. This position also requires familiarity with CAD systems like SolidWorks and the ability to collaborate on product lifecycle management, making this an exciting opportunity to impact the aerospace industry significantly. Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) and hazard analysis methodologies is crucial, as is the ability to obtain an ATF security clearance. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers, customers, and internal teams are also required. Candidates should have knowledge of aerospace and military standards, alongside skills in blueprint reading, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in chemical engineering and direct experience in aerospace or defense environments.
