About The Position

Kimley-Horn is looking for an Experienced CAD Operator to join our Natural Gas team in Warrenville, IL! The CAD Operator will be responsible for generating plan and detailed drawings for construction projects. Candidates with experience in gas distribution, gas transmission, pipelines, meter/regulator stations, and compressor stations are encouraged to apply. The operator's duties will include the following: Generating drawings using Kimley-Horn standards, client standards, and industry best practices Performing quality checks of drawings and revising them based on markups and design directions from clients or engineers Creating templates and tools for efficient execution of design projects Ensuring CAD software is up to date and optimized for project execution Maintaining the drawing database Supervising and training drafters and designers as required Maintaining knowledge of Kimley-Horn practices, procedures, and standards Maintaining knowledge of client and industry standards Working independently within the scope of assigned work to complete tasks within the designated hours and schedule

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in 3D CAD design
  • Experience using CADWorx for piping design
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, electrical equipment and controls, P&ID, and loop/wiring diagrams
  • Proficiency with Autodesk or Bentley software
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to learning
